Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST)

What is Fascia?

Fascia is a system of connective tissue in the body that wraps around and through the muscles, nerves, organs, and just about everything else in the body.

Why Stretch it?

Fascia lies outside of, and deep within the muscles. It connects muscles to the tendons, ligaments, and bones to form a functional network of tissue throughout the entire body.

Because of it's global reach, stretching the fascia rather than just individual muscles has a greater benefit. It is also a pain-free approach and lasts longer!

Who Can Benefit from FST?

-The average person just trying to increase flexibility
-Those experiencing;
-Low Back Pain /Soreness
-Tight Hips/ hip Flexors (aka Everyone)
-Poor Shoulder Mobility/ Range of Motion
-Postural inadequacies
-Chronic Tightness
-Plantar Fascitis
-Inefficient movement patterns/ body mechanics

-Moms LOVE FST! Whether you just had your baby or it's been decades, the body doesn't forget that it carried your bundle of joy around for 9 months.

Does it hurt?

I've had clients fall asleep before. So in short, No.

I strive to provide a therapeutic experience and ask that all clients communicate to me if ANYTHING even SLIGHTLY feels painful, especially those with healing injuries or past trauma.

How Does it Work?

An FST session begins with some simple assessments to identify areas needing attention.
Next, I begin warming up the tissues and down regulating the sympathetic nervous system to allow for greater tissue stretch response.

Drawing from the findings of the initial assessments, gentle tractioning and manual stretches are performed that target the areas (fascial lines) contributing to the client's issue(s).
